To New Yorkers like me, it comes as no surprise that numerous pedestrians would walk past an apparent bicycle theft and make no fuss. Fact is, many urban cyclists are complete jerks -- riding on sidewalks, blowing through crosswalks, heading the opposite way down one-way streets. They are a much bigger danger than cars. If I saw a theft in progress, I wonder if I'd even bother to make a 911 call.
